Your content and ownership

You retain ownership of your documents, images, fonts, templates, text, and other content. Megal Software Limited does not claim ownership of your content, but you grant Megal Software Limited the limited permission needed to process, display, convert, store, export, and transmit that content so the service can operate.

Megal Publisher ownership and licence

Megal Publisher, including its software, source code, interface, layout, designs, text, graphics, branding, and functionality, is the proprietary property of Megal Software Limited. Unauthorized copying, reproduction, distribution, modification, republication, resale, or creation of derivative works is prohibited except where required by applicable law.

You may use Megal Publisher only through the official online service and only in line with the plan attached to your account. You must not attempt to bypass licensing, account, subscription, security, domain, watermark, or usage controls.

Accounts and acceptable use

You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for all activity on your account. Only one active login is permitted per account at a time. You must not share access, interfere with the service, misuse automated access, upload malicious files, or use the service for unlawful, infringing, harmful, or abusive content.

You remain responsible for the documents, images, fonts, templates, text, and other content that you upload, edit, export, or publish using the service. You must only use content where you own the rights or have permission to use it.

Megal AI Design may research public web information and general layout conventions to create a new composition. It is not a template-copying or image-licensing service. Generated layouts, wording and images may be inaccurate or may resemble existing material unintentionally, so you must review the result and obtain any permissions needed before publishing. A generated view of a named place or item is an AI interpretation, not a guaranteed copy of an official or licensed photograph.

Megal Software Limited may suspend or restrict access where it reasonably believes an account is being misused, used to attack the service, used to infringe rights, used to bypass payment or licensing controls, or used in breach of these terms.

Subscriptions, payments, and cancellation

Paid subscriptions are billed by PayPal on a recurring basis until cancelled. The selected plan price, billing frequency, and PayPal approval screen apply when you subscribe.

Megal Publisher Professional is available as a £5.99 monthly subscription or a £59.99 yearly subscription. A Megal AI add-on is a separate subscription available monthly or yearly; the yearly price is 10 monthly payments for 12 months of service. If you hold both subscriptions, each bills independently until you cancel it. The included 1,000 Professional credits and the selected AI add-on allowance both refresh monthly on either billing frequency. Unused credits in each allowance expire when that allowance refreshes. A Megal AI add-on requires a successfully paid and active Professional subscription. If the Professional payment is pending, fails, is reversed, or ends, paid AI access and the issue or reset of add-on credits are paused until PayPal confirms that Professional is paid and active again. The AI add-on can be cancelled separately from your Account page.

Before starting PayPal checkout, you must separately tick the Terms & Conditions checkbox shown for Professional Monthly, Professional Yearly, or the particular Megal AI package you select. Ticking one subscription's checkbox does not accept another subscription. Your acceptance time, selected plan and applicable terms version are recorded with the subscription. You will then review and approve that subscription's recurring payment separately on PayPal.

Changing an active Professional Monthly subscription to Professional Yearly requires you to consent again on PayPal. PayPal charges £59.99 immediately when you approve the change. The remainder of your current paid month is preserved; the prepaid 12-month term is appended to it, begins on the current monthly end date, and next renews 12 months after that yearly start date. Megal does not automatically prorate the current monthly period or issue an automatic refund for it.

Changing an active Professional Yearly subscription to Professional Monthly also requires you to consent again on PayPal. PayPal does not charge £5.99 when you approve this change. The monthly plan is scheduled to start only on the existing Yearly next billing or expiry date, and the first monthly charge is due on that date. Your paid Yearly access remains unchanged until then.

An Extra AI billing conversion is offered during a Professional billing change only when you already have an active Extra AI subscription. It is not shown when you have no active Extra AI subscription and Megal does not enrol you in one automatically. Professional and Extra AI remain separate subscriptions, so changing both requires two separate PayPal approvals. When changing Professional Monthly to Yearly, your existing monthly AI add-on stays monthly unless you choose its Yearly conversion; the Yearly AI billing starts on the add-on's own next billing date. When changing Professional Yearly to Monthly, an existing yearly AI add-on is scheduled back to monthly at its own Yearly next billing date, with no AI charge at approval.

If you cancel Professional Monthly, Professional Yearly, or a monthly or yearly AI add-on, including a subscription with a scheduled plan change, cancellation stops the next renewal or any scheduled unpaid plan start. Access and credits already paid for continue until the next billing date or the end of the paid period. No refund is issued for unused remaining time in a paid month, paid year, prepaid appended Yearly term, or paid add-on period. Cancelling Professional does not automatically cancel the separate AI add-on; cancel it separately if you also want its renewal to stop.

Failed payments, unpaid outstanding balances, PayPal holds, reversals, chargebacks, or cancelled payment authorisations may suspend paid features until PayPal confirms that the subscription payment is completed. Megal Publisher may check subscription status before allowing paid features such as actual printing or PDF creation, export or download.

Subscription features, prices, and plan limits may be changed for future billing periods. Where practical, material changes to paid plans will be shown in the service or during subscription management before they affect future billing.

Service availability and changes

Subscriptions are billed continuously by PayPal until cancelled. Megal Publisher is provided as an online service without any warranty that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, continuously available, or meet any particular uptime level. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Megal Software Limited gives no warranty for service availability, uptime, data transmission, browser compatibility, or uninterrupted access.

Megal Software Limited may update, improve, restrict, suspend, or remove features where needed for maintenance, security, compatibility, legal compliance, payment enforcement, or operation of the service. You should keep your own backup copies of important files and exported documents.

The service depends on third-party systems including browsers, operating systems, hosting providers, payment providers, email providers, fonts, and network connections. Megal Software Limited is not responsible for delays, failures, loss, or restrictions caused by third-party systems outside its reasonable control.

Documents, exports, and print output

Megal Publisher is provided for general desktop publishing and document design use. You are responsible for checking exported files, print settings, colours, bleeds, fonts, spelling, layout, dimensions, and printer requirements before production, distribution, or publication.

Conversion, import, SVG handling, PDF export, colour conversion, print preparation, and template rendering are provided as tools only. Megal Software Limited does not guarantee that any imported file, exported file, colour value, bleed, font, layout, or print result will be accurate, complete, compatible with a particular printer, or suitable for a particular purpose.

Warranty disclaimer

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Megal Publisher is supplied "as is", "with all faults", and "as available". Megal Software Limited excludes all warranties, conditions, guarantees, representations, or other terms that are not expressly stated in these terms, including implied terms about satisfactory quality, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, reliability, security, compatibility, or availability.

Liability and legal rights

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Megal Software Limited is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary loss or damage, or for loss of profit, revenue, business, goodwill, opportunity, data, files, content, subscriptions, production costs, print costs, or wasted expenditure.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Megal Software Limited has no monetary liability for free-account use of Megal Publisher. For paid accounts, Megal Software Limited's total liability for claims connected with the service is limited to the amount you paid for Megal Publisher during the one month before the event giving rise to the claim.

Megal Software Limited is not liable for failure or delay caused by events outside its reasonable control, including payment-provider issues, hosting failures, internet outages, cyberattacks, power failures, legal restrictions, industrial disputes, natural events, or emergency maintenance.

The liability limits above apply to the maximum extent permitted by law. They do not apply only to the minimum extent the law requires, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence and liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales unless mandatory local law requires otherwise.

These terms may be updated from time to time. If the updated terms materially affect your use of the service, Megal Software Limited may give notice in the service or by another reasonable method. Continued use of Megal Publisher after updated terms are made available means you accept the updated terms.
