Start with meaning and order
A reader should be able to identify the purpose of the event programme, navigate its sections and understand the required action without decoding the visual design. The intended audience is attendees navigating a timed performance, ceremony, conference or community event, and the goal is to combine schedule, orientation and contextual information in the order attendees need it. Use descriptive headings for event title and date, welcome or context, running order, people and contributor notes and venue, sponsor and contact information and keep their reading order logical in both the page layout and exported document.
