Start with meaning and order
A reader should be able to identify the purpose of the label sheet, navigate its sections and understand the required action without decoding the visual design. The intended audience is people producing repeated identification, address, product or filing labels, and the goal is to place accurate repeated content inside a supplier’s exact label grid. Use descriptive headings for label purpose, required identifier or address, optional secondary detail, code or handling information and sheet and stock specification and keep their reading order logical in both the page layout and exported document.
