Start with meaning and order

A reader should be able to identify the purpose of the restaurant menu, navigate its sections and understand the required action without decoding the visual design. The intended audience is diners choosing between clearly described items, options and prices, and the goal is to support quick comparison while preserving the restaurant’s tone and required dietary information. Use descriptive headings for restaurant identity, menu categories, item names and descriptions, prices and options and dietary, service and contact notes and keep their reading order logical in both the page layout and exported document.

Make text readable
